Protein Sparing Modified Fasting Bread

This recipe was inspired by Maria Emmerich and I’m just going to share my changes. Her recipe is a lifesaver to the PSMF way of eating and I highly suggest you check out her website, Maria Mind Body Health.

Use this psmf bread recipe for so many things such as bread, breadsticks, cinnamon rolls, etc. I swapped the sweetener that is used in the original recipe and use my favorite keto sweetener, BochaSweet, instead.

This bread recipe yields 4 servings for me with each serving containing 19g of protein. This psmf bread is a fluffy spongy texture and has very little flavor. I would honestly say there is 0 egg flavor since the whites of the eggs are used only. I use a cookie sheet for more even cooking and also to be in the shape of bread slices.

Ingredients
  

  • 453 grams egg whites
  • 66 grams egg white powder
  • 2 TBS keto sweetener BochaSweet
  • 1/4 tsp pink salt
  • 1/4 tsp cream tar tar (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a mixing bowl add egg whites, salt, sweetener, cream tartar and mix until stiff peaks form. Next add the egg white powder and mix well.
    Line a cookie or baking sheet (11×17) with parchment paper. Pour batter onto pan and level.
    Bake for 15 minutes.
