Hamburger with Zucchini Fries

I can make a hamburger 100 different ways. It’s so fun to play with all of the variations and it also makes this meal something you can have differently every time you make it. This is one of my favorite ways to make my hamburger. Keep in mind, toppings do add up so be aware! I did enjoy a SmartBUN tonight on my burger and it was a treat to have a bun without all the guilt. I also liked that the SmartBUN is high in protein, fiber and has 0 net carbs. It’s pricy but worth it for that occasional treat.

Tasty and satisfying for all!

Ingredients

Hamburger

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 6 servings dill pickles
  • 3 hass avocados, sliced
  • 6 SmartBUN optional

Zucchini Fries

  • 6 medium zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • avocado oil spray

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. I used my oven's air fryer setting but you could also use an air fryer to make these. I also lined my baking sheet with parchment paper to catch the mess for easier cleanup.
Prepare the hamburger patties by mixing spices and meat. Divide into 6 patties and grill to desired doneness.
Slice zucchini into similar sizes and line them up on a baking sheet. Lightly spray with avocado oil spray. Add salt and pepper and parmesan cheese. Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese is slightly browned.
Assemble burger on the bun, add avocado slices and dill pickles. I used avocado to act as my mayo so I'm not going to add mayonnaise today. Sometimes I'll add yellow mustard and cheese but tonight I kept it simple.
